Summer break has arrived, although after spending quality time with my two little ones I am not sure I can use the term break as I am more exhausted than I was a week ago! These darlings sure keep me busy and on my toes constantly. The girls enjoyed the last two weeks of school spending time with Papa and Grandma. They had many adventures from going to the Elk Foundation, the Carousel, Children's Museum, and the library to name a few. As a family we enjoyed a wonderful Saturday hiking in the Rattlesnake area admiring the beautiful wildflowers, went to the Farmer's Market, visited Great Aunt Stella in Plains, and enjoyed a few meals out (which we never do). Jimmy and I actually had a date night, which is very rare for us and was much needed. We will have to schedule another one soon.
This week the girls and I have kept busy going to swim lessons, Super Sprouts soccer for Addy, soccer playing for mom, and doing crafts and just hanging around having fun.
On Wednesday we decided to dress up and go play around at the Iris Garden. The girls love to chase each other around on the little paths that run through the garden. The iris' were just beautiful.
Jimmy's co-worker's brother took this amazing picture of him at the Double Dip race last weekend up Mount Sentimental. Doesn't it look like one of those pictures you would find in Outside Magazine during their "best towns" issues?!
Somehow I have managed to read a book this week, The Glass Castle, excellent book if you are looking for a quick read. Next book Positive Discipline for Preschoolers! As I was checking out at the library today I decided not to use the self checkout since Amelia had run away from me three times and I didn't want to let her have her chance at a fourth, (once she made it to the stairs by the exit she is sure fast) I am sure the lady checking it out thought it was comical that was one of the books I was taking home! Surprisingly I also found time for a new sewing project, personalized pillowcases for the girls. This weekend we are off to a birthday party and then head up to Placid Lake for a night of camping! Have a good one!
