Arrival of Adelyn Genevieve Grant

At 3:00 am Wednesday morning I awoke to contractions that were following a pattern. I woke up Jimmy and we started timing the contractions. After going past our due date by nine days already we were very excited for this day to finally arrive. I was scheduled to be induced in two days so it was a huge relief when I went into labor on my own. After calling the doctor we headed to the hospital around 7am. The next 21 hours slowly went by, all the while we were wondering if our baby would be born on tax return day. Our sweet Adelyn held out until Thursday (all Grant babies are born on Thursday!) and was born at 12:20 AM April 16, 2009. She weighed a healthy 8 lbs 0 oz and measures 21 inches. The pain and waiting was well worth it. We couldn't love our little girl any more!
