This morning we woke up bright and early to head up Lolo Pass to show our support as Jimmy ran the Mountain to Meadow 14 mile race. As the race was starting I saw that there also was a 5K going on. I had planned on going for a walk anyway so I joined in. It was a great way to pass the time as we waited for Jimmy to cross the finish line. Adelyn would have been the youngest finisher if only I had been able to register us.
The 5K was much more mellow than the 14 mile run. Most of the participants were walkers with their kids and dogs. The scenery, especially the fields of wildflowers, was spectacular. This was the first race I have participated in which I have strolled along taking pictures. It was a very relaxing way to start the day. Adelyn enjoyed being carried and was able to dose back to sleep. Of course Cooper had a great time; he may have even enjoyed posing in the sea of camas for me!
We celebrated Jimmy's win and Adelyn's first 5K by enjoying blackberry cobblers a la mode...at 10 am!
