Summer Road Trip Part 1

Summer Road Trip Part 1: Montana to Minnesota

As Gabby and I loaded up the Liberty I was a bit nervous about what lay ahead of us...a 16 hour car drive with a 3 month old! Adelyn is an angel baby so it wasn't too surprising that she was excellent for the long drive. She only had a few short crying spurts. The drive ended up taking 19 hours because of the longer gas stops for feedings, changings, and stretching. Our pilot, Gabby, did an awesome job driving all but 3 hours as I entertained Adelyn. Nineteen hours is a long time to entertain a baby in the car! Adelyn and I were especially excited to reach Linwood as Jimmy had arrived the night before after being away on a work trip for a week.

Grandma and Grandpa Grant invited many relatives up to the lake to meet Adelyn. Adelyn loved meeting so many people and didn't seemed to get overwhelmed at all.

Grandpa John's cousin Martha let us borrow this awesome stroller! It is 42 years old and was ordered from the Netherlands. Adelyn seemed to love being walked around the neighborhood in it.
Adelyn had her first boat ride while we were in Minnesota. Grandma Grant made a special trip to the store to buy her a life jacket so that we could feel comfortable knowing that she was safe.

The life jacket looks like it is a bit uncomfortable but Adelyn liked it. She even took a nap during our evening cruise on Linwood Lake.
Adelyn's first visit to Minnesota sure was nice and we look forward to next summer when she can play on Great Grandma Grant's beach!
